Ah-ha that created a few comments!

Hey - I found something people get annoyed about! My last blog on the egov v eparticipation bit raised more than a few comments, and not just through this blog!

Well all I will say is think on what I said - forcing people down one particular route in my view is not the answer. Providing a quality experience and letting people decide for themselves that this is the way to interact with government (or any other organisation for that matter) IS! I will always comment that we have never offered trainingin mobile phone usage and yet the use of mobiles for a variety of things is ever on the increase - in my local area over 86% of the population own and use a mobile phone. Do we tag onto this with eparticipation and egovernment? Generally I would have to say NO. And yet it is something the general population has found of use in their chosen lifestyles. We need to learn to read these trends far more effectively in order to test new areas for participation.

We don't generally offer letter writing sessions, or how to make an effective phone call. Maybe we should! We simply harp on and on about people using technology as if it were the best thing ever! Well OK maybe I agree that it is a massive changer in our current society, and maybe I am a heavy and happy user of technology myself. All I am saying is that maybe we should not expect everyone else out there to take to it as eagerly as we have. There is life outside the computer or the PDA you know!

Denmark by the way is spectacular. I've spent today down caves, shopping and stuffing myslef with danish sausage! The weather is glorious and the horses!! Well what can I say about the horses...... OK maybe I'll shut up there!
