Hot, hot, hot!

I would almost dare to say that it is too hot at the moment but I don't dare because it seems to me that we are always complaining! It's either too cold, or too wet, or too dry, or too hot! Nature cannot win! So I'm not going to mention the weather at all!

Well my house is finally going up for sale. I have been prevaricating about it for ages now but the change of job plus my hisbands redundancy have made me make the break. So on the market it goes next week. Of course this means that at the moment I am going through a round of valuations, sussing out contracts and trying to work out who is the best estate agent for the best money, and who will sell our house at the best price without it taking too long! It is not an easy task, and one I am pleased to say I rarely do!

That means that shortly I will be free of all responsibility (well except for my family) and can make a decision on where to go - Highlands and Islands, deep south or midlands? What choice! I don't think I have felt so excited or scared for a long long time!

Work is steadily trickling in. I am currently writing some papers for a conference in Italy in the Autumn, and doing some work on democratic policy - that's quite interesting. And soon I go to Italy to teach a group of students about the following -

The European Information Society & Technology Convergence
Social Inclusion & Community enterprise/development
Implementation and mainstreaming, Effective Business Models, Networks & Partnerships & Role of Regional Authorities and appropriate interventions

Now there is a challenge! So at the moment I am vigorously working on how I set the lesson plans up and how I can introduce real case studies to back the lessons. I want to create interest and challenge, not send people to sleep!

Any ideas welcomed!
